Deacon Joshua Knight: Founder of Catholic Engineering Corps

As the founder and Corporate Executive Officer of the Catholic Engineering Corps, Deacon Josh engages in a three-fold ministry that includes Technical Expertise, Disaster Response, and Spiritual Care. He designs, implements, and monitors Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects globally. Through his work, he assists survivors of both domestic and international disasters, helping to build resilience in their communities. He also provides fellowship and guidance for individuals seeking God. Deacon Josh and his wife, Rachel, began their mission work in 2004 when they traveled to Cameroon in western-central Africa with Lay Mission Helpers, where Joshua focused on water supply initiatives while Rachel taught English at the local high school. Since then, Deacon Josh has continued to serve as a missionary engineer in the Majority World. Currently residing in Denver, Colorado, Joshua and Rachel are raising their four children—Mary, Grace, John, and Sonya—who range from middle school to college age. Joshua leads a ministry that possesses the technical expertise necessary to ensure that humanitarian development projects are executed sustainably, appropriately, and with the heart of Christ. Our work is ethically grounded, characterized by a service mentality, and embraces a collaborative multidisciplinary approach. We pride ourselves on being self-starters with valuable experience, thinking globally, demonstrating cultural dexterity, and being effective team players.
